From Humboldt to Harlem — everyone knows the tote. Black Tote Boys didn’t start as a brand. It started as a symbol. Before drops. Before logos. Before hype. The black tote was already everywhere — moving through grow rooms, back seats, pop-ups, and behind counters across Northern California and beyond. If you were around the culture, you knew the tote. It wasn’t marketing. It was function. It was survival. It was part of the ecosystem.
I grew up in the trenches of Northern California, moved to Humboldt County at age 8, and was raised around legacy cannabis culture long before it became an industry. This wasn’t something I studied later — it was lived. The environment, the people, the work ethic shaped everything early.
As cannabis evolved, I saw both sides — the roots and the transition into legalization. By 18, I stepped into the medical era and learned firsthand how the culture and compliance had to coexist. Over time, something became obvious. The culture stayed creative. The packaging didn’t.
Everything started looking generic. Corporate. Disconnected from where it came from. The industry was moving forward, but the identity was being stripped away. At 29, out of Sacramento and Mount Shasta, Black Tote Boys® was officially launched to change that — with distribution support through Platinum Distribution and a clear mission: protect the culture while pushing it forward. The Black Tote Boys® Mini Tote is a patent-pending, child-resistant evolution of one of the most recognizable objects in cannabis culture. It’s built to meet modern compliance without losing its roots — functional, legal, and unmistakably tied to where it came from.
Black Tote Boys® is a cultural streetwear and lifestyle brand built for collaboration. Beyond our own apparel drops, we work toward licensed partnerships with cultivators, distributors, and aligned brands, creating co-branded packaging, limited capsules, and future collaborations that respect the culture instead of exploiting it.
